Our first stop for this trip is at the tidal island of Lindisfarne which carries a wealth of history within its tidal walls. This peaceful setting, once the home of the Vikings and the ancient monks, is the birthplace of the Lindisfarne Gospels, one of the most precious books in the world.
We continue our journey to the beautiful Northumberland village of Bamburgh home of the Grace Darling RNLI Museum and Bamburgh Castle which has stood guard above the spectacular Northumberland coastline for over 1,400 years. Spanning nine acres of land on its rocky plateau, Bamburgh Castle is one of the largest inhabited castles in the country.
We then continue to Seahouses, a fishing town where you can browse the shops or perhaps treat yourself to fish and chips before our journey home.
