Holy Island, Bamburgh & Seahouses
Holy Island or Lindisfarne is one of the most important centers of early English Chritiananity, there will be time to wander around the island you can visit the Exhibition, the priory or the castle or maybe wander around some of the islands eclectic shops.
We will also visit the town of Bamburgh famous for its castle which has been home to the Armstrong family since 1894 Bamburgh Castle has stood guard above the Northumberland coast for thousands of years. It is one of the most important Anglo-Saxon archaeological sites in the world.
The museum houses a collection of extraordinary finds including the intricate gold Bamburgh beast and a rare pattern welded sword.
We will also visit the seaside resort of Seahouses known as the gateway to Northumberland there will be time to wander the shops of stop for the famous fish & chips.
